I worked for almost 10 years at Ferranti as the company's Marketing Manager. It was in that time that a bulk of my experience and expertise was crafted.
I championed the Ferranti brand, setting up clear brand guidelines for employees and creative suppliers. I have managed the bulk of the graphic design work myself following extensive training on Adobe Software.
Clocking up 7 major and 3 minor exhibitions, in excess of 20 brochures, I reinvented the website 3 times prior to leaving to pursue the Design Grove with more focus.
In the latter years of my employment, I drew on my marketing experience to lead an internal communications initiative that was the first seen of it's kind and launched an interactive, visual intranet system to aid communication. See the write up about that here.
I also led a programme of workshops to effectively communicate the businesses values. Along with the artwork for posters and wall art to reinforce various internal messages.
I was also involved in promoting community support work within the business and represented the business at many school community projects.
What Ferranti had to say;
"Gillian is a naturally gifted communicator, she has a real passion and flair for her work, combined with the high emotional IQ essential for delivering a complex communication strategy"
